Paden

padenHey there, my name is Paden Campbell and I am the new rising star of the “Phantom Lover” series and I am excited I have my own book, entitled “Paden” coming to www.extasybooks.com on February 15, 2010. This is the 14th book in the “Phantom Lover” series and the first book since “Na Hiku” which came out in July.
Tell us about yourself

Okay so what makes you special?
I’m immortal, that’s what! I was married to a Samoan king. A cannibal king actually, though I personally never ate a human being…well, not that I know of. My ex husband was a little too fond of mystery stews.

What differentiates you from your kind? Do you have special abilities?
Yes, I will look this gorgeous for the rest of my life, well, your life too. I will never age. I can shape shift, I can make magic. I’m still learning all my abilities…my separation from my murderous ex is teaching me a lot about myself that I never knew. I’m amazed at the new talents I’m finding…that I never knew I had. I try not to feel angry about how downtrodden I was…how much he manipulated me.

Tell us about your most current adventure.
I’m about to go to England, in search of my past to understand my future. I was absent from my son Lopaka’s life for many years. I am closer to his twin sister Maluhia, a dear, darling girl who is a lot more forgiving than Lopaka. I understand Lopaka needed his father…and his mother come to that. He is a lot less trusting because him mother gave him up. She abandoned him. I swear I had no idea. Maluhia’s life was no picnic but at least she had her mom. I feel that Maluhia’s choice of an abusive husband is my fault. Had I been there…had I been there for her when she was young she might have made healthier choices sooner.

She is a fantastic mom to her twins Kamaha and Keli’i and I love those boys. They are fun and feisty and very smart. I miss them and I’ve only known them a few weeks. I never thought after meeting Lopaka again that I’d want to be close to him or his husband, Kimo, a proud Kahuna and talented shape shifter himself. I am worried about their toddler son Little Kimo…I saved him once, but I fear he might be in danger again…

If you could offer advice to your author, what would it be?
Keep writing this series. Don’t stop now! I’m so hot, people will love reading about me. I promise to take my clothes off regularly. I promise! I swear!

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
Oh, have you seen me? I’m a hot tamale baby! People say I look like the gay porn star Adam Killian. He’s okay…I can see the resemblance…

Is humor important?
Of course humor is important. When you life forever you better find something to laugh about or you get frown lines which aren’t very sexy and you might as well have fun. You could always kill people I suppose, but I am a lover, not a fighter.

Is expressing love difficult for you?
It was before I became immortal. Now I want to screw every guy in sight. Oops…I mean, I want to embrace my fellow man….heartily.

If you could time travel, where would you go?
I would go back to Hawaii in the year 1893. January 16, the day BEFORE the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy and make sure our queen, Lili’uokalani got to stay on her throne. I often wonder what the islands would be like today, still under sovereign rule.

Share a little bit of the ‘real’ you with our readers. Any Dark secrets?
No, no, no. I have no secrets. Okay. Maybe a few. I can’t tell you if they’re supposed to be secrets now, can I? Except…no, no. I am blameless. Really.

What motivates you to continue on these adventures?
Total world domination. I intend to restore good vibes for everyone.

What are your opinions on your ex-husband, the Cannibal King?
Well, he is a complete bastard. He was quite good in bed and since he was my first male lover…I fell hard. He made me immortal and for that I’m grateful but he ate crackers in bed and it bugged the hell out of me. Plus, he is trying to hunt me down and kill me which kinda…you know, sucks.

What are the pro’s and con’s to being an immortal?
Well, like I said I will always look this way and I save a bomb on air travel being able to go wherever I want on my own steam but this is also the con…I will outlive my family and I have come to cherish them all, especially my grandchildren. I don’t want to outlive them. It’s wrong on so many levels. Oh I am getting emotional thinking about it.

How does one become an Immortal Shifter?
Good genes? Well to be honest I can’t tell you. You have to read “Paden” but I will say this. It involved a big ceremony and pain. Yes, there was pain.

Describe your best kill. Why was it the best?
The best is to come. I will kill the Cannibal King.

What kind of abilities do you get when you become an Immortal?
I know what everyone is thinking. It’s kind of annoying when the people involved are boring and think only about their next haircut and stuff. On the positive side, I can avert disaster if they’re plotting to bomb a building.

What makes being with an Immortal Shifter the best sexual experience?
I can make love for HOURS. Yeah, baby!

Does shifting hurt?
Only the person I shift to kill. That’s the only time I shift, really.

Have you ever had a flea bath?
Not intentionally.

Is silver dangerous for you or is that a myth?
Not for me. I am more allergic to bad haircuts.

Do you shed a lot?
You hang out with some gnarly shifters to ask questions like this!

What do you think about the Quileute Pack?
They’re okay but in their human form they are still not hot like me. Lucky guys got a movie though!
