Taboo?

images1I am at a crossroads, of sort. Why is it that in literature, humans prefer to not only read, but encourage other humans to partake in violence, but not sex?

There are a plethora of books that descriptively explain a murdered victim, the bloodshed, the violence in which the crime was committed and the premeditated thoughts that accompanied such violence, but when it comes to sex, human adults shy away from it, as though it were the black plague?

Erotica, where two loving, consenting adults, experiencing pleasure from each other is taboo, but hacking, slicing and mutilating a body aren’t.

Take us for example. Why is it okay to think, believe and teach your human children that vampires will suck-their-blood dry, but it’s not acceptable to teach those same children that we have pleasurable, tender moments with our loved ones.

Of course, we drink blood, but is it any different than a human eating food. Have you considered what you put in your mouths? What? it’s okay because the cow is dead?

We, don’t typically kill our prey. Yes, some humans die when we get carried away. Accidents happen. However, you must know that some humans energies are atrocious. I would rather die of starvation than to sink my precious fangs in them.

2
This is a hell of a lot sexier than seeing some senseless crime scene.

I don’t know why I care about humans! Think about this, when the violence has become intolerable, we will become the nightmares you portray us to be and we will rid the world of the monsters you have created.

Obituary of Common Sense

common
I couldn’t have said this any better:

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults are in charge, not children)

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Airport Security and the Healthcare Reform Bill only worsened his condition.

Common sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common sense lost the will to live when he heard that, even the predominantly catholic Argentina extended equal rights to gays, while the United States continued it’s open discrimination.

Common sense took a beating when criminals started receiving better treatment than their victims, and teenagers decided that having anal sex would save their virginity.

Common sense was moved into an Intensive Care Unit, after hearing about the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster.

Common Sense was placed on life support after the statement that the current  administration will Support an Anti-Israel Resolution at the U.N., and that Elena Kagan at Harvard, "proceeded to forge the law school's 'Islamic Finance Project." It's purpose, according to McCarthy, was "to promote Shariah compliance in the U.S. financial sector."

Common sense took his last breath when he heard that Arizona was being sued for upholding the requirement that immigrants should carry and be able to produce their immigration papers.

Common sense was preceded in death, by his parents, truth and trust
His wife, discretion
His daughter, Responsibility
His son, reason.

He is survived by his 6 stepbrothers:
I know my rights
I want my rights
I want it now
I’m a victim
Dim-wit and
Half-wit.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on if not, join the majority and do nothing.

Interview with Raven Kelly

It’s my pleasure to have Raven Kelly here with us today, She’s the webmistress for three websites that you may recognize:

Vampiress.ca, VampireBooks.ca, and RavenKelly.com.

VampireBooksLargeBanner

Raven, tell a little bit about yourself.
I'm from Canada, and live in the beautiful province of British Columbia. I read and review paranormal and vampire books as a hobby, and I absolutely love it. My husband and I have our own Internet company together. He truly is my soul mate, my best friend and the other half of me. I'm also the mother to four loving fur babies named Blacks, Bouncer, Priscilla Presley and Tili.

When you were younger what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a psychologist and help children and adults with their problems. I met my husband and we decided to start our own Internet comapany, and I have never looked back.

Why did you decide to start your first website Vampiress.ca?
I have always been interested in Vampires, and Witches from a young age. I started reading Twilight (yes I know what you are thinking), and that ignited my interest in vampires again. I read a few books in the genre, and soon after decided that I wanted to give other Vampire fans like myself a heads up on good Vampire books to read.

Favorite season? Why?
I absolutely love the Fall Season. I'm a Fall baby, so I guess that is a part of the reason. I love the colorful leaves, cooler weather, all things "Halloween," and also I'm a Atheist witch so it goes all seems to go along.

Who is your favorite Author(s)?
WOW, that is hard question to answer. I don't want to be biased, but some that instantly come to mind are Lyndsay Sands, Katie Mac Alister, Lisa J Smith, Gerry Bartlett, Christine Freehan, Jenika Snow and Rae Lori are a few authors that I really enjoy.

Who is your hero? Someone you admire and look up to?
I have two people that I admire and look up to.

The first person is my husband, I admire is drive, and patience. He is such a driven person in life and someone who works hard to achieve his goals.

The second person I admire is Alex Jones, a lot of you may not have heard of him. He is someone who is passionate about liberty, which I am too. Our world right now is in trouble and we are going into some really hard times. Alex is so focused, and up on his radio show every day trying to get word out about what our governments (and the the people who control our governments) are doing to us. If you are interested in learning more about Alex Jones please check out his website www.infowars.com. As Alex will tell you, "Don't take my word for it, research it for yourself!" ..if you do a little investigating on the net you will be VERY surprised at what you find!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?
I would live where I am now, in Canada, in the most beautiful province there is. My dream would be to one day live in big log cabin on some land with my 4 cats and husband. I would have chickens, cows, goats, and a few horses on my land. I would also have a massive organic garden with every vegetable known to man, and lots of fruit trees. I would also build my house by a nice stream so I can hear the water outside my bedroom window at night. I love nature and everything about it. I love the piece and quiet and, the smell of the clean air in the mountains. That would be heaven for me.

Tell is something interesting about yourself?
I was born on my mothers birthday and I am exactly half her age. I was also born on a full moon.

What interests you and what do you like to do for fun?
I love watching hockey I'm a huge Edmonton Oilers Fan. I love reading and spending time on my websites. I like aromatherapy, and nice hot bubble baths. I also like to workout and eat healthy.

Describe yourself in one word?
I can't describe myself in one word, but people always tell me that "I'm a nerd trapped in a beautiful body." LOL

What is your favorite food?
CHOCOLATE, I love chocolate. Anything that has chocolate on it, I'm eating. My husband has to hide chocolate from me because I would eat it all day long.

I hope everyone enjoyed learning a little about me, I enjoyed sharing myself with you all. You can check out my websites here by visiting these URL's below.

Exhibitionism or Over-sharing

I have a pet peeve...well I have a lot of pet peeves actually, but one that I am feeling the need to point out right now.

People OVER-SHARE information about their lives that no one wants to know. Going far beyond and away from sexy exhibitionism. It doesn't matter how polite they are about it, nodding and smiling and "Oh yeah"ing to it because they are too polite to say "shut the fuck up!" They don't want to know, I don't want to know, your family doesn't even want to know.

And yet there is a constant bombardment of TMI around, especially on the Internet. I don't get it! What is the obsession people have about sharing things best kept to themselves? Whether with a stranger or a family member, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!

I am okay with exhibitionism, I am okay with voyeurism. A fan of both actually. What I am not okay with is the over-sharing of your disgusting human plights of sickness and detailings of such. What is the point of that?

Am I the only one who has found this a disappointing advancement of society? I am unimpressed with humans, yet again...

Special Guest Interview with Marina of Wet Glamour

Rina I am Marina, most everyone calls me Rina though. I am a mermaid, one of so few left. My clan is small and all female, thanks to those damn slekies. My story is the third in the Immortal Council series that Courtney Breazile is writing, under the close watch of Zyra, of course. My book can be found at www.extasybooks.com

What makes you special? What differentiates you from your kind? Do you have special abilities?
I am an average mermaid, except in that I have found a mate in another species of immortal. Mermaids look like normal people, when dry. Legs and skin and nothing fishy at all. We are all quite delicately built, and rely on our powers of persuasion. All mermaids have the ability to persuade others to do as we suggest, within certain limits. A very useful tool when dealing with humans, or immortals. We prefer the water, even though we were chased out of it. When wet we are covered head to toe in shining scales, tails when we want them too.

Tell us about your most current adventure.
My story, available July 1st, tells how I ended up on the council, and in Lucas’s arms after swearing I would never go near him again. I had to save my mersister, and I was willing to do anything. Being near Lucas set off every sexual desire I had been denied for the last thirty years. And no amount of persuasion could make me forget it, or deny it.

Tell us a little bit about your author. Where can we find more of their works? And If you could offer your author advice, what would it be?
My author’s website is www.courtneybreazile.com and she spends a lot of time tweeting at www.twitter.com/cbreazile She has many great works at both Extasy Books and Devine Destinies.

If I could offer her some advice it would be: Watch for the fangs behind you, Paxton is anxious to have his story told too.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
NO! Stupid humans, and many immortals too, think that mermaids are just sea sluts, luring unsuspecting ships and sea men to their doom. They believe us ditzy and weak…okay well we are weak for immortals, ditzy, maybe a little, some of us anyway. With our high sing-song voices it doesn’t help our reputation much. Hopefully after reading my story they will see that we are definitely not the dumb sea sluts they believed.

Tell us a little bit about your world.
Since leaving the ocean, in fear of what happened to our males, my mersisters and I have lived among the humans. Moving every few years to keep down the suspicions. Living in a house with all my mersisters has been years and years of what I imagine a sorority house would feel like. Fun, crazy, loud and loving.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I enjoy most types of music. A benefit of being alive so long and hearing music as it has changed so much over the years. Every music type has something in it to appreciate.

Is expressing love difficult for you? Why?
It’s actually far too easy.--- When a mermaid comes into contact with their fated mate she can’t help but sing. The love song is undeniable, and so embarrassingly obvious. A very big reason why I didn’t want to be anywhere near Lucas.

Do you ever ask your significant other for advice?
He hates that I am a part of the council, except that he can keep me close. He would prefer to lock me safely away. Thankfully Paxton put his foot down about that right away.

What is your most favorite thing to do?
Besides having sex with my mate? Hmmm….well swimming, definitely swimming.

Do you sing in the shower?
Mermaids sing EVERYWHERE!

Do you think you are a superior being?
Superior to who? Humans, yes, other immortals, no. I think immortals are equal in their superiority to humans but no better than one another.

What kind of abilities do you get when you become a mermaid?
When in mermaid form, tail and all I can move through the water faster than any mortal being out there.

How old are you?
Not as old as my mate, and that is all that matters. A girl likes to be young and beautiful.

Check out the Immortal Counsel Series:

Reading, Learning, Evolving

I’m reading Sophie’s Choice for the priceless education that is William Styron’s masterful writing. Sometimes I read a sentence and want to put down my proverbial pen forever. How can it be possible for one writer to be so gifted? He is a master, and if you haven’t tackled this beautiful monster about the tragic Sophie, I highly recommend it. It’s a study in character development and the musicality of language. Stunning. (The film with Meryl Streep is also wonderful -- she won an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal -- but read the book first. read the book so remind yourself what strong writing really is.)

Now back to the sex, my threesome short, One Bedroom, Fully Furnished, will be released soon. While no vampires are in it, it’s a dark, edgy, delicious MFF story about two predatory and vampire-like female lovers who work together in a furniture store and prey on hot, hapless male customers for their own selfish pleasures. Sure, the guys are lucky, but they’re the ones getting used in this equation. If I keep going in this direction, I might conjure a nice, biting little vampire story before you know it. Here’s the teaser:

He's in the market for a king-sized bed. She's in the mood for a king-sized threesome. When Aaron walks into the upscale Scandinavian furniture store, Kolinkar Furnishings, to shop for a bed, he meets a drop-dead gorgeous sales lady who's aggressive in more ways than one. Lucinda zeros in on him the moment he enters her lair and deems him worthy prey for her and her equally predatory co-worker, Signe. Lucinda sells him the right bed, but will he give it the ultimate test ride?

Between Styron and all my friends who write paranormal, something wicked good is bound to rub off on me. I hope you’ll check out my work at www.eXtasybooks.com along with the stories of my fellow Naughty Little Vamp authors whose works have some of the sexiest vampires in erotic romance.

Author did something right - 5 Nymphs Review!

ISBN: 978-1-55487-501-6
Genre: {F/F}, Paranormal, BDSM

“There are many scenes that show a new side of Tamara--a softer side, if you can believe it. But the loves scenes… damn. The best lesbian scenes I’ve read! If you’ve enjoyed the Hightower books, do not miss this one!”

Click here to read the entire review at Literary Nymphs Review

Is it not enough that I have put up with her blatant disobedience and have tolerated her abandonment to our way of living and our life together? As Matriarch of the Hightower Clan, I should take what rightfully belongs to me. No one would deny me that right, but I want more than just her body standing next to me. I want her heart and love to follow willingly.

For those of you who wanted more steam, let me give you a small nibble. Here's my shower scene with Jaz and Alice. Just don’t tell Izzy!

Jaz soaped up my hair, massaged my scalp and then pulled me into the water flow and into her arms. As the shampoo ran out of my hair, our lips met and her embrace tightened around my waist. Her hand followed the path of the soapy water until it reached my butt cheek, giving it a little squeeze. Slippery and wet, she rubbed her breasts against my chest. Her nipples grew harder with every pass. I reached between her legs, my hand palm up and fondled her crotch. She dropped her head on my shoulder, sinking her teeth into me as she held back a cry. The hot steam rose around us, enveloping me in its warmth while her bite captivated my senses, encouraging my sadistic side to emerge. I had all but forgotten what it was like to be with another experienced vampire. We loved pain and we loved to bite.

I gripped her hair and pressed her face into my shoulder. I wanted to relish the sting of her fangs for as long as possible. I forcibly drove three fingers deep inside her cunt, and she bit harder. Tendrils of pleasure latched onto every nerve, and I spiraled into a passionate frenzy. Alice moved rapidly as I turned and slammed Jaz’s back against the wall where she once stood. Jaz moaned, released her bite and then filled me with her fingers, compelling my tightened muscles to give way.

As the hot water beat on my back, Jaz continued to fuck me, unrelentingly, driving her fingers into me, adding more fervor to each new stroke than the last. My knees had threatened to buckle. I knew I would come if I didn’t stop her. At the same time that I grabbed her wrist, pushing her arm down forcing her fingers out of me, I latched my teeth onto her shoulder, maneuvered my back against the shower wall and jutted my fangs into her flesh. She moaned and her knees gave. I held her tightly against my body with one arm clasped around her waist. My other hand invaded her wetness while I dug my fangs deeper and drank from her shoulder. Suddenly, the hot water turned to a cold spray. As I gripped Jaz by the waist and threw her out of the shower, I saw Alice moving her hand away from the faucet handle. I hissed and grabbed the back of Alice’s head, getting a handful of her hair in my grasp.

“You were draining her,” Alice pleaded in self-defense.

"She is mine to do with as I please," I snarled, then yanked her head back exposing and biting her neck. Careful only to take a small amount of blood from her, I forced her mouth to my already healing shoulder and made her taste my blood.

We’ve got our FANGS in Paty Jagar’s, Clay Halsey.

DoctorInPetticoats_w4663_680 Hi Clay, tell us something about yourself.
I'm Clay Halsey, the third of five brothers. Doctor in Petticoats is the fourth book in the Halsey brother series about my brothers and how we each meet and fall in love with feisty women who don’t always follow the rules of society. Now, it isn't easy for a woman to be a doctor in the west in 1888, but Rachel is tough when it comes to her commitment to her career. I just wish she was as tough about her desires as a woman. If you want to read about our discovery of one another you can find our book in print and e-book at http://www.thewildrosepress.com/

What makes you special?
I don't know if you'd call me special, but I lost my sight when someone I thought was my friend tried to kill my brother and his soon-to-be wife. A stick of dynamite blew up near me and the concussion of the blast took away my sight. Now, I have hopes it will eventually return, but in the event it doesn't, I refuse to be a burden on anyone. That's why I'm at the blind school.

Tell us about your most current adventure.
My oldest brother dumped me at the blind school in Salem, Oregon on his way to his honeymoon with his new wife and her two kids. In the beginning, I'm feeling like a turkey among a flock of ducks until meet a young man who hasn't let his blindness stop him from helping his mother and sister. Forgetting my limitations, I climb on a roof and fall, breaking my leg. That's when I get to really explore the many facets of Doctor Rachel Tarkiel.

“Please. I won’t do anything inappropriate. My fingers are my eyes.”
She grasped his hands, drawing them down. “I have brown curly hair, the color of scuffed shoes. My face is oval, no distinct cheekbones. My nose is neither large nor small and sits above small lips. My eyes are brown.”
Clay frowned. She painted a very dismal picture of herself. “Do you always describe yourself so plainly?”
She sighed. “I will always tell you the truth. I’ve accepted my plainness.”
He started to shake his head, but the movement flashed pain in his temple. “No one is plain. Every person I’ve ever met has some characteristic that sets them apart from others.”
“Like your crooked nose?”
He didn’t miss the teasing in her voice or her attempt to turn the conversation from herself. “That might have happened for the wrong reason, but it sets me apart from my brothers who all have the same color hair and eyes. We’re each just an inch or two shorter or broader shouldered than the next one. Gil, the baby of the family, is six foot, and has the narrowest shoulders. But dang if he doesn’t have the prettiest face.” He snorted. “’Course we don’t tell him that. We’ve been telling him he’s the ugliest. Keeps him humble.”
Rachel’s laughter soothed his aching head like a warm tonic.
“I imagine growing up with—how many brothers?”
“Including myself, five.” He rubbed his thumb over their clasped hands still resting on his chest.

Tell us a little bit about your author. Where can we find more of their works? And If you could offer your author advice, what would it be?
Paty Jager lives in Oregon and helps her husband farm nearly 200 acres. When she isn't outdoors taking care of animals or haying, she's inside concocting tales of the romance set in the historical and contemporary west. You can find all six of her published books at: http:www.thewildrosepress.com or you can learn more about her at http://www.patyjager.net or http://www.patyjager.blogspot.com

The best advice I can offer my author is get Hank's story done so we can get on with our lives and you can go torture some other fictional family.

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
It depends on if you are talking about before the book or now that I've learned so much about myself. I'd say at the beginning of the book, no, I'm not happy with how people perceive me because I'm not happy with myself. But with Rachel's love I learn self-respect and how to stand on my own. And people regard me with more respect and appreciate how hard I work to not be a burden on anyone.

Tell us a little bit about your world.
I grew up in a small mining area in the Blue Mountains of Oregon. I was about fourteen when our parents and youngest brother were killed by Indians. After that our oldest brother took care of us. We continued to work the mine and do odd jobs around the community. I like figuring out how things works and have been drawing up a better ways to make the stamp mill more efficient when my eyesight was taken from me in a dynamite blast.

Is expressing love difficult for you? Why?
I love my brothers. We support each other and as the family grows we support the wives and kids. But to flat out tell a woman I love her. It's going to take someone special to make me say what I'm feeling but I can show it many interesting ways.

What other characters have influenced you?
Donny is a twelve year-old boy who has been blind for several years, yet he is teaching other students at the blind school how to make brooms. He makes them and teaches to support his mother and sister. He is one person who taught me to never harbor self-pity and to use every ounce of determination to get what you want. There are no limitations other than what you put on yourself.

Share a little bit of the ‘real’ you with our readers. Any Dark secrets?
There were days when I first became blind I thought about going for a walk and hoping they never found me. I felt useless and worthless. But my brothers seemed to sense that and wouldn't leave me alone. Colin, Aileen's son, even stood beside the outhouse in case I decided to bolt from there.

What’s the kinkiest thing you’ve done? Stupidest? Craziest?
I brought Rachel to completion in the men's washroom of the Pullman car when we traveled from Portland to Baker City.

Clay thanks for joining us today! I have to admit, we don’t get too many mere mortals stepping up to the plate.

Happy 4th...

I was 66 years old when America first became a country...don't do the math, I don't look as old as I am so it doesn't really matter. I hadn't met Paxton yet, was barely out of my parent's house actually.

I always enjoy the Fourth of July human celebration. The fireworks are always so beautiful, it even makes the suffering of being so close to so many humans worthwhile. I like to get a good view and so the crowds are a must. At least afterward I am not fighting with them to get back home. I can slide off to enjoy the night instead...

...and I did!

Nothing better than moonlight, blood and my love.

Happy 4th of July!

Have a SAFE and HAPPY 4th of July, America.

I leave you all with this thought...

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else." Theodore Roosevelt .

ECLIPSE!

Hi everyone,

My partner and I were two of the 7 million people that stood in line and helped bring in over 30 million dollars for the Eclipse midnight premeier...I've heard it from all my friends, I suck! Fear not, even Tamara has expressed her distaste.

I will NOT give away any spoilers. If you've read the books, you'll know what to expect anyway, but I have to say that I was a little surprised.

First of all, Rave (the theatre we went to), handled the crowd very professionally, I was impressed, especially after New Moon. There was no pushing, no shoving, no fights. Yeah! We'll be there for Breaking Dawn, too!

Secondly, I love Twilight so don't get your panties in a wad when I say this, but there are three things that I found disappointing.

1- There was one scene in the movie that never happened in the book and I know why they added it. It was so the people who haven't read the series would understand the confrontation with the Volturi. I'm still not happy about it, read the damn books and don't change the scenes.

If you've seen the movie, did you notice the scene I'm referring to?

2- I thought the ring Bella gets should have been a little more "true to its period" and that's All I will say about that.

3- The movie itself was 2 hours and 4 minutes long, but it felt like it flew by. It didn't feel like a 2 hour movie! I wanted more!

That's my ranting!

Enjoy the fourth and please be safe!
